Elaine completed her Graduate Diploma in Psychology and Bachelor of Behavioural Science Honours at the Queensland University of Technology. She has many years of experience working across a variety of clinical settings including forensic, disability, mental health, and private practice.
Elaine is a warm empathetic psychologist, who accepts the uniqueness of each individual and their family. Elaine has always been passionate about supporting the emotional well-being of children and young people and helping strengthen meaningful connections and relationships with friends and family to promote healthy development. She strives to help young people and their families make sense of their emotional struggles, build on existing strengths and strategies to manage the difficulties they are facing, and develop new skills to tackle the challenges associated with navigating childhood and adolescence.
She employs a range of approaches including mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, systemic principles, and various trauma-informed models including EMDR. Elaine has an interest in working with adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma.
