Kayla – Occupational Therapist
Degree: Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Honours
Professional Associations: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Kayla enjoys working with all, infants to children to teens to support them in achieving their goals. As a clinician, she has an interest in assisting others to engage in meaningful activities of daily living like play, self-care, communication, school, and community access. She works on increasing functional capacity through improving social skills, emotional regulation, problem-solving, executive functioning, reading and writing, and motor coordination.
Kayla also particularly loves solving problems and providing answers to families investigating diagnoses. She can complete functional capacity assessments, motor coordination assessments, visual processing, sensory processing, assistive technology, and autism diagnostic assessments. She works very closely with families providing parent education and training as well as with other therapists in the multidisciplinary team and school stakeholders.
Kayla’s approach is entirely client-centered and based on the most up-to-date evidence-based practices. She loves being silly and is not afraid to make a fool of herself for the sake of therapy and to make people laugh.
When she isn’t at work she loves to play soccer and take her crazy dogs to the beach
